Enjoy rodeos and shops in the town of Williams, whose Main Street celebrates its fame as part of Route 66. On the way, you will enter the canyon at Zuni Point, a scenic overlook nestled into the South Rim. Late spring and early fall offer the best weather; late fall is slightly less crowded. This site makes a lovely location for your Grand Canyon wedding proposal, wedding ceremony, or renewal of vows. We recommend visiting Red Rock Crossing at Oak Creek in Sedona for the best view of this amazing rock formation.

A word of caution: These are not beginner’s runs. Our take-out point is Diamond Creek, just a few rapids short of our Lees Ferry to Lake Mead trip, making for a shorter drive back to Flagstaff. You can fly over in a plane, however a helicopter is a slower and more intimate encounter with the canyon. You will have approximately three hours of free time at the West Rim, including a complimentary box lunch at Guano Point, 4,000 feet (1,200 meters) above the mighty Colorado River.

John Hance, like many early canyon prospectors and miners, turned to tourism in the early 1880s. Even if you never use those passes again, you will save 50% or more on your entrance fee to the Grand Canyon National Park. Unlike the over-developed south rim, there are relatively few facilities here. Antelope Canyon is a small but exquisitely beautiful geological formation in northern Arizona. One pacer at a time may accompany each runner from the Russell Tank (mile 66.7) or Hull Cabin (mile 79) aid stations to the finish.
